American War by Omar El Akkad

2074 the Second American Civil war breaks out and our main character Sarat Chestnut who live in Louisiana which is mostly underwater are forced into Camp Patience for displaced persons, she quickly begins to be shaped by her particular time and place until, finally, through the influence of a mysterious functionary, she is turned into a deadly instrument of war.

I found this book in the recommendations on Goodreads and thought it sounded really interesting I just haven't read it yet I hope to read it in 2018.

Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood

This is the story of Grace Marks who is accused of killing the man she worked for and his housemaid. Grace is in prison and a group of people are trying to get her released and call in a psychologist to come and decided if Grace really committed the crime or if she is innocent.

I found the show on Netflix and really enjoyed it. (Yes I watched the show before reading the book shame on me LOL). I think that the premise sounds so interesting and I loved The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood. I hope to really enjoy this one as well.

 3.

Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco

I read the first book in this series called Stalking Jack the Ripper in October and thought it was amazing! I really wanted to continue on with the series but my library didn't get me a copy in time so I am waiting to read this one when fall 2018 comes around I am pretty sure I am going to love this one as much as the first.

2.

One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake

I also read the first book in the series in 2017 and really enjoyed it I just haven't been in the mood to continue on with this series just yet. I have a feeling that when I read this book I am going to want to know what happens and want the next book so I think I am waiting to see when the 3rd book will be released before starting this one.

The Power by Naomi Alderman

This book was one I found late in 2017 and just haven't been able to get my hands on a copy. In this world women have the power to electrocute things with their touch and have reversed the gender roles and are now the more powerful of genders.

I think this book sounds amazing and it is one that I really want to read in the beginning of 2018

Let me know in the comments some of the books that you just didn't get to in 2017.

Love always,
Missy
